establishing peace is the work of education."

Students struggling with big emotions, teachers stressed by difficult behavior?
You are not alone - we have all been there!
Come together and confidently make a plan to calm the classroom.
Find new tools to manage tantrums, help children express emotion appropriately,
teach conflict resolution and decrease difficult behavior in the classroom.
Get strategies from three toolkits:
* Positive Discipline
* Montessori
* Process Communication Model
Using positive discipline (Nelsen, 1996) and a Montessori approach (Lillard 2005) to develop children’s autonomy has been supported by research to create less conflict between children, more skillful self-regulation, less adult intervention required to manage day-to-day disagreements, and a more peaceful classroom.
Process Communication Model (Kahler, 2008) offers unique tools to intervene in children’s distress in a way that speaks specifically to their personality and developmental needs of the moment.
COST: Sliding scale, $500 - $875. If your program can afford slightly higher cost,
we will pass on this benefit to teachers with less financial means.
